We have developed a system that enables the display of locally targeted banner ads to internet users. It achieves this by changing the banner ads of existing web pages with banner ads from companies that are situated in the locality of the user. The process takes place at the ISP level.

The system has been developed in co-operation with the Data Engineering Laboratory of the Department of Informatics of the Artistotle University of Thessaloniki.

The development of the system has been partly funded by the General Secretariat for Research and Technology (GSRT) of Greece through the Operational Programme 'Competitiveness', Measure 4.3 - Act 4.3.2 (PAVET-NE 2004) with project code 04BEN71.
